The One Who Serves Merges in the True One

ham kee-aa ham karhagay ham moorakh gaavaar.
"I have done this, and I will do that"-I am an idiotic fool for saying this!
karnai vaalaa visri-aa doojai bhaa-ay pi-aar.
I have forgotten the Doer of all; I am caught in the love of duality.
maa-i-aa jayvad dukh nahee sabh bhav thakay sansaar.
There is no pain as great as the pain of Maya; it drives people to wander all around the world, until they become exhausted.
gurmatee sukh paa-ee-ai sach naam ur Dhaar. ||3||
Through the Guru's Teachings, peace is found, with the True Name enshrined in the heart. ||3||

In plain words

One who serves the True Teacher, through the Grace of the True Teacher, merges in the True One.

Abiding in the true home of the self, the True One is found.

Service that is genuine — complete, without ego-claim — does not accumulate *karma*. It dissolves it.

Service without ego-claim dissolves what claiming with ego accumulates — the difference is everything.
The deeper layer

The contrast with the "I did this" fool: the one who serves (sevaak) the True Guru does not claim independent doing. The service is offered; the merger follows; the True One is found in the inner home.

Sach ghar (true home of the self) returns — the antar ghar (inner home) where the divine has always been present. Service of the Guru makes the seeker available to recognize what has always been there.

A Question to Sit With

Can you think of something you've done that felt genuinely selfless — where you weren't monitoring your own goodness while doing it? What was that experience like?
