Aapai aap pachhaanai — the True Self recognizes the Truth. Not the ego recognizing something external — the True Self recognizing its own nature. This is the final teaching of Guru Amar Das's Siree Raag: the merger is a recognition, not an achievement. What was always within is what you always were.
