The True Guru has led me to meet the One — my only Friend.
The One is the Saving Grace of His humble servant. Why should the proud cry out in ego?
As the servant of the Lord wills, so does the Lord act. At the Lord's Door, none of his requests are denied.
The closing pauri pivots from the accumulated failures of the ego-centered life to the resolved state of the one who has met the One through the Guru.
"At the Lord's Door, none of his requests are denied" — khaalee koee nahi — the servant's request is never refused. This connects to Guru Ram Das's teaching in Shabad 64: none return from the divine Door empty-handed. The One is the Friend who never fails to receive.
"Why should the proud cry out in ego?" — ka-o kai garb gavaaraa — the proud person cries in ego because they have not found the Friend. The servant does not need to cry, because the Friend is always present and always answering.
What would you ask for if you knew with certainty the answer would not be no? What does that reveal about what you most deeply want?
