One who attains perfection as Gurmukh, obtains the Immeasurable True Lord. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

My Lord and Master is perfect. His throne lasts forever and never moves.

The one who becomes whole by facing the Guru finds the True Lord, too great to measure.

Completeness is not achieved — it is recognized, because it was always already here.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the whole shabad. It says the One is complete and never shaken.

Mayray thaakur poorai takhat adol means my Master sits on a perfect throne that never moves. The Supreme One is whole and complete. That throne lasts forever. It does not depend on time. It does not depend on how things are going.

Picture a lighthouse on a rock. Storms come and go, and the light stays in the same place.

Gurmukh means one who faces the Guru, who has turned toward the teaching. All through Gurbani it is set beside manmukh, one who faces only their own self. This is not about obeying a person. It is about which way your whole life is facing.

A Question to Sit With

What would it mean to already be complete — not to need anything more in order to be okay?
