In plain words

O my mind — you shall find peace through the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

Working for the Perfect Guru, no one goes away empty-handed.

The practice — the work — and the guarantee: no one who serves the Guru leaves without something.

No one who serves the Perfect Guru goes away empty-handed — the guarantee is complete.
The deeper layer

The rahao's guarantee: khaalee koee jaai — no one goes away empty-handed from the Guru's service. This matches the teaching from Guru Ram Das's closing Siree Raag pauri (Shabad 64): none return from the divine door without something.

The practice (Gur sev) as the means to peace: peace is found through the Shabad, which is received through serving the Guru. The service is the orientation; the Shabad is the medium; the peace is the fruit.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever sought genuine spiritual guidance or practice and found it genuinely empty — received nothing? Or has something always come, even if not what you expected?
