Real Peace Is Thought, Word, and Deed in Agreement

Truly fortunate, in this world, are the ones who sing praise - always.
The ones who dwell in the Name are the world's actually-wealthy.
The ones whose thoughts, words and actions all speak the same One are peaceful and glad, forever. Whoever recognizes the One as One - only, ever One - understands this world and the next in one stroke.
And whoever's mind takes the Name as its companion comes to know the Stainless One.
This verse gives new meanings to three words the world loves: lucky, rich, and honest.
Lucky: badbhaagee tay jan jag maahi — truly fortunate are those in this world who sing the One's praises forever. Luck here is not winning a prize. It is singing praise.
Rich: say dhanvant ganee sansaar — those who dwell on the Name are counted the wealthiest in the world. This is wealth that never runs out, the same wealth the merchant songs of Raag Aasaa describe.
Honest all the way through: man tan mukh boleh har mukhee — mind, body and mouth all speak of the One. Thought, word and deed line up. The Brahm Giani's salok began with truth in the mind and on the lips. Here it reaches into action too. Peace is the sound of those three no longer arguing. Think of a band where every instrument plays the same song.
The top line rewards slow reading. Ayko ayk ayk pachhaanai — one who recognizes the One as One. That is more than believing in one God. It is seeing the One as One, everywhere, in everything. This is Ik Onkar, "One Creator," turned into real seeing. It ut kee oh sojhee jaanai — they understand this world and the next together. Both are the same One, seen twice.
