In plain words

Master of every being and every creature - You Yourself fill everything, everywhere.

The One pervades all. Where would a second even be seen?

The question is not whether there is one God - it is whether you can find a second anywhere.
The deeper layer

This one says: look everywhere, and you find only the One.

jee-a jant kay thaakuraa aapay vartanhaar — Master of all beings, You Yourself are at work everywhere. naanak ayko pasri-aa doojaa kah daristaar — the One is spread through all; where is a second to be seen?

This is not an argument to win. It is a report of what the eye sees. The eye looks for a second and finds none. Think of looking for the edge of the sky. You keep looking, and there is only more sky.

This salok gathers the long journey of the section before into one calm way of seeing. The twenty-second ashtapadee, a group of eight verses, lives inside that seeing. It turns practical. It shows what protection, fearlessness, honest trade and daily life look like for someone who has stopped seeing seconds.

A Question to Sit With

Look around slowly. Can you find anything that is truly, finally separate - not connected to everything else?
