The God-aware person is the dust of everyone's feet - and knows what a soul is.
Kindness flows from them to everyone; no harm comes out of them, ever.
They do not take sides. Their glance falls on you like gentle rain.
Free of tangles, spotless in how they live, fed by wisdom itself. Nanak says: they live absorbed in the One.
When a God-aware person looks at you, it feels like gentle rain.
The line to sit with is this one. Barahm gi-aanee kee darisat amrit barsee — nectar rains down from their glance. Some people look at you to size you up. They measure, compare, or want something. A God-aware person's look is different. It feeds you, the way rain feeds a garden. Being seen by such a person is itself a blessing. That is what darshan means all through Gurbani: a sight that passes something good to you.
Barahm gi-aanee tay kachh buraa na bha-i-aa — no harm comes from the God-aware person. This is not a score for good behavior. It describes how they are made. Hurting others needs a self that wants things at others' cost. In them, that grabbing self has melted away.
Barahm gi-aanee kaa bhojan gi-aan — wisdom is their food. Think of a tree. It takes in sunlight and gives out fresh air. In the same way, such a person takes in wisdom and gives out kindness.
How do different people's attention feel on you - and how does your attention land on others?
