In one instant, the crawling worm is seated as a king - the One protects precisely the ones nobody else protects.
Someone no eye ever noticed shines suddenly in all ten directions.
And whoever receives His blessing is not dragged through the old accounts - the ledger is simply closed.
Soul and body are His property anyway. Every heart is lit by the Perfect One. He shaped all this Himself. Nanak says: beholding His greatness is what I live on.
Grace can lift the smallest one to the highest place in an instant.
khin meh neech keet ka-o raaj — in one moment, a lowly worm is made a king. paarbarahm gareeb nivaaj — the One beyond all limits protects the humble.
Gurbani is full of such turnarounds. Another shabad in Raag Gauree speaks of an orphan made a queen. The Bhagats show it too. Bhagat Kabir was a weaver. Bhagat Ravidas made shoes. Their songs sit in the Guru Granth Sahib, honored forever, while mighty emperors are mostly forgotten. Sikh history later showed it again: people others overlooked came to shine.
Then a line about accounts. In old stories, Dharam Raa-ay, the judge of deeds, keeps everyone's account book. taa kaa laykhaa na ganai jagdees — the Lord of the world does not add up that person's account. Think of a teacher who tears up the list of your old mistakes. This is mercy as a full pardon, not a small discount.
Why is that fair? jee-o pind sabh tis kee raas — soul and body all belong to the One. The Owner is forgiving debts owed to the Owner.
And ghat ghat pooran barahm pargaas — every heart is lit by the Perfect One. So this is not favoritism. The light was placed in every heart equally. It just shows itself at different times.
Who around you goes unnoticed? What might be waiting inside them for its instant?
