A stream of sweet nectar keeps flowing, and with it comes the state that never dies. The pool is always full of nectar.
The saints who served in days gone by drink from it, and they wash their minds in it.
Their fear is taken away, and they are given the state of fearless dignity. By the Word alone, they are lifted up and saved.
Kal the poet says: Guru Ram Das, son of Har Das, fills the empty pools until they overflow.
The Word lifts fear away and leaves a calm, steady dignity.
The picture is a pool that never runs dry. A stream of amrit, sweet nectar, keeps flowing into it. The saints who have served come to drink from it. They wash their minds in it, the way you splash cool water on your face on a hot day.
Then the gift comes: anbhai pad, the state of no fear. Danger may still come, yet your roots go so deep that it cannot shake you. Think of a tree in a storm. The branches sway, but the roots hold.
The verse ties this gift to loving service and to the Word. It promises a dignity that stays steady in the middle of the world. Kal closes with the refrain: Guru Ram Das fills the empty pools until they overflow.
