In plain words

I have found the One — my Friend, my very best Friend.

This Friend will never break my heart.

This Friend's home lasts forever, and no one can weigh how great this Friend is.

Nanak says: I have made this One the Friend of my soul.

There is a Friend who never breaks your heart.
The deeper layer

The One is a Friend who never breaks your heart.

Har labDho mitar sumito: I have found the One, the best of friends. Bidaaran kaday na chito: this Friend never thinks of breaking my heart.

Jaa kaa asthal tol amito: this Friend's home is lasting and the Friend's weight cannot be measured. Sakhaa jee-a sang kito: Guru Arjan, signing as Nanak, makes this One the companion of the soul.

A Question to Sit With

What does your very best friend feel like — and could that grow even bigger?
