In plain words

I run in many directions, searching for the love of the One.

The five troublemakers inside torment me — how can I defeat them?

Shoot the sharp arrows of remembering the One's Naam.

O Lord! The way to strike down these fierce enemies comes from the Perfect Guru.

Remembering the Naam is the sharp arrow against the five inner enemies.
The deeper layer

Remembering the Naam is the sharp arrow that defeats the five troublemakers inside.

Dhaava-o dasaa anayk: I run in every direction for the love of the One. Panch sataaveh doot: the five troublemakers torment me. They are selfish wanting, anger, greed, clinging and ego, enemies that live inside, not people.

Teekhan baan chalaa-ay: shoot sharp arrows. The arrows are naam prabh Dha-yaa-ee-ai, remembering the Naam of the One. Pooran gur paa-ee-ai: the way to win this fight is found from the Perfect Guru.

A Question to Sit With

When the inner troublemakers gang up, what gently settles them?
