In plain words

Farid says: my Husband, the One, is full of joy, great, and needs no one.

To be dyed in the color of Allah — this is the most beautiful thing to wear.

To be dyed in the One is the most beautiful thing to wear.
The deeper layer

Being colored through with the One is lovelier than any jewelry or fine clothes.

This salok is by Guru Arjan, written in Farid's name. Kant rangvaalaa: the Husband full of joy. Vaymuhtaaj: needing nothing from anyone. The One is like a groom who lacks nothing.

Alah saytee rati-aa: dyed in Allah, the name for the One that Farid and Muslims use. Think of white cloth dipped in dye until the color soaks into every thread. Ayhu sachaavaa(n) saaj: that is the true decoration.

A Question to Sit With

What would it look like to be colored through with love, all the way to the inside?
