In plain words

The patient ones live in patience, and in this way they wear the body down.

They are close to Khudaa, the One, but they do not tell their secret to anyone.

The patient grow close to the One and keep it quiet.
The deeper layer

The patient give themselves fully to patience, grow close to the One, and keep it quiet.

Sabar andar saabree: the patient live inside patience. Tan ayvai jaalayni: in this way they burn up the body. Farid means the slow, hard work of patience, giving all of oneself to waiting on the One. It is not about hurting the body.

Hon najeek khudaa-ay dai: they are near Khudaa, a Persian name for the One. Bhayt na kisai dayn: they do not tell their secret. Think of a seed working quietly underground long before anyone sees a sprout.

A Question to Sit With

What is something good in you that you do not need to show anyone?
