Salok Bhagat Kabir, Salok 3 — why do you waver?
ਕਬੀਰ ਡਗਮਗ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਹਾ ਡੁਲਾਵਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥
kabeer dagmag ki-aa karahi kahaa dulaaveh jee-o.
Kabir, why do you stumble? Why does your soul waver?
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਕੋ ਨਾਇਕੋ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥੩॥
sarab sookh ko naa-iko raam naam ras pee-o. ||3||
He is the Lord of all comforts and peace; drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord's Name. ||3||

Kabir says: why do you stumble? Why does your heart waver back and forth?
The One is the Master of every comfort and peace. Drink in the sweet taste of the Lord's Naam.
When your heart wobbles, drink in something steady.
When your heart wavers, drink in the taste of the Naam.
Dagmag is an unsteady, stumbling step. Kabir speaks to himself gently, coaxing the shaky mind. The One is sarab sookh ko naa-iko, the Master of all comfort. Raam naam ras pee-o: drink the sweet taste of the Naam. Steadiness comes from what you take in.
