Kabir, when you are in love with the One Lord, duality and alienation depart.

You may have long hair, or you may shave your head bald. ||25||

In plain words

Kabir says: when you love the One alone, the feeling of being split in two goes away.

Then you may grow your hair long, or shave your head bare.

What you look like on the outside is not the measure of the love inside.
The deeper layer

When your heart loves the One, how you look on the outside does not decide anything.

Kabir says loving the One takes away the feeling of being split in two, pulled two ways at once. A great calm takes its place.

Then he names two opposite looks. Some holy people let their hair grow very long. Others shave their heads. Kabir is not making fun of either one. He says the love inside is what counts.

Think of two players on the same team in different jerseys. They still play for the same side. The outside look is not the game. What counts is the love inside.

A Question to Sit With

Why do we sometimes judge people by how they look before we know their hearts?
