Verse 85 of 450
Salok Bhagat Kabir, Salok 27 — everyone leaves barefoot
kabeer ih tan jaa-igaa sakahu ta layho bahor.
Kabir, this body shall perish; save it, if you can.
Even those who have tens of thousands and millions, must depart bare-footed in the end. ||27||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Kabir says: this body will go; bring it back if you can.
Even those who had hundreds of thousands and millions left with bare feet.
Everyone leaves barefoot, whatever they owned.
Every body passes away, and even the richest leave with bare feet.
Ih tan jaa-igaa: this body will go. Sakahu ta layho bahor: bring it back if you can. Jin kay laakh karor: even those who owned hundreds of thousands and millions, naa(n)gay paavhu tay ga-ay, left barefoot. Death comes to everyone the same way, and wealth cannot keep anyone here.
