ਖੰਭ ਵਿਕਾਂਦੜੇ ਜੇ ਲਹਾਂ ਘਿੰਨਾ ਸਾਵੀ ਤੋਲਿ ॥
khanbh vikaaNd-rhay jay lahaaN ghinnaa saavee tol.
If I could find wings for sale, I would buy them with an equal weight of my flesh.
ਤੰਨਿ ਜੜਾਂਈ ਆਪਣੈ ਲਹਾਂ ਸੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਟੋਲਿ ॥੨੧॥
tann jarhaaN-ee aapnai lahaaN so sajan tol. ||21||
I would attach them to my body, and seek out and find my Friend. ||21||

In plain words

If I could find wings for sale, I would buy them, paying an equal weight of myself.

I would fasten them to my body and search until I found my Friend.

*Reaching what you love most can feel worth any price at all.*
The deeper layer

The longing to meet the One can be so strong, you would give anything to fly there.

khanbh vikaad-rhay jay lahaa — if I could find wings for sale. ghinnaa saavee tol — I would buy them for an equal weight of my own self. Then I would fasten them on and fly to find my Friend.

It is an almost childlike picture. Think of a kid at the airport window, wishing they could fly straight to a grandparent far away. The salok shows viraha, the ache of missing someone you love. Here that ache is tender, and it points toward the One.

A Question to Sit With

If you could fly anywhere to reach someone you love, where would you go?
