If you cry out for help from the True Guru, you have nothing to fear - your boat will not sink. ||4||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The storm rages, the rain floods the land, and thousands of waves rise and surge.
If you call out to the True Guru, there is nothing to fear — your boat will not sink.
In the worst of the storm, reach out for help, and your boat will hold.
When the storm is at its worst, calling out to the True Guru keeps the boat from sinking.
Jharh jhakharh ohaarh: storm, gale and flood, with lahree vahan lakhaysaree, waves by the hundred thousand. These are the moments of life that feel too big. Satgur si-o aalaa-ay: cry out to the True Guru. Then bayrhay duban naahi bha-o, there is no fear of the boat going down.
A Question to Sit With
When you feel like you are about to be swamped, who or what do you call out to, and does it steady you?
