In plain words

O my mind, meditate on the Naam of the One, Har, Har, and you will be honored in the court of the One.

All your wrongs and mistakes will be cut away, and the pride of ego will be gone.

The heart-lotus of the Gurmukh — the one who turns to the Guru — blossoms, knowing the One as the Soul of all.

Nanak prays: O One, Har, Har, pour Your mercy on me, so that I may chant the Naam of the One.

When pride falls away, the heart opens and you see the One in everyone.
The deeper layer

Meditating on the Naam lifts away mistakes and pride, and the heart opens to the One in everyone.

Har har naam Dhi-aa-ay man: the salok speaks to the mind, asking it to remember the Naam. Then kilvikh paap, wrongs and mistakes, are cut away and ha-umai gumaan, the pride of ego, ends. Gurmukh kamal vigsi-aa: the heart-lotus blossoms, and aatam barahm, the One as the Soul of all, is recognized. Seeing past the separate self, a person finds the same presence in everyone.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like when pride quietly lets go of you?
