Savaiye in Praise of Guru Amar Das (by the bard Jaalap), Verse 11 — carrying what cannot run out

Those people know no pain and no hunger. No one can call them poor.
They do not grieve, and no one can find the edge of what they have.
They do not have to serve anyone else, yet they give gifts to hundreds and thousands.
They sit on fine carpets. They can set things up and take them down as they wish.
They live in peace in this world, and they are fearless even among their enemies.
Jaalap says: their lives bear fruit, because Guru Amar Das is pleased with them.
Whoever Guru Amar Das is pleased with carries something that cannot run out.
They know no pain or hunger and cannot be called poor (nidhan nahu). They serve no one for their worth, yet they give to hundreds and thousands. They live fearless (abhai) even among enemies. Many read these riches as inner ones: having enough, giving freely, and not being afraid, all from carrying the Naam.
The bard is Jaalap, one of the bhatts, poets who sang the praise of the Gurus.
