Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The deep One lives in the wide open sky inside you.
Sing its praises and you settle into easy, natural peace.
It never has to come or go — it simply is.
By the Guru's grace you stay lovingly focused on it.
The One of that inner sky is beyond reach, needs no master, is never born.
The finest stillness is a mind held steady on the One. Remember the Naam, and you won't be thrown back into the round of births.
The Guru's teaching is the best of all; every other way is empty of the Naam.
Gagan — the sky of the mind, the inner Tenth Gate, part of the yogic vocabulary Raamkalee carries and which Nanak re-derives through remembrance. Sukh sahj nivaas — dwelling in intuitive poise. Samaadh sagonee — the worthy stillness is simply steady attention. Anaath ajonee — needing no master, unborn.
What helps you find the quiet sky inside on a noisy day?
