Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Says Nanak: I give myself to the Guru,
through whom I find the One, the all-knowing First Being.
The understanding that purifies isn't self-made — it's received through the Guru.
The close offers the way to that purifying understanding: surrender to the Guru, "through Him, I obtain the Lord." The understanding that no self-effort produces is received through the Guru. Humility about the body opens into devotion to the One who knows all.
