Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One has shown His face to servant Nanak;

coming to know his own self, he has found the deepest peace.

The Beloved you long for outwardly is met by truly coming to know yourself within.
The deeper layer

The resolution arrives as Darshan — "the Lord has revealed the Blessed Vision" — and, crucially, through self-knowledge: "realizing his own self, he has obtained supreme peace." The Beloved longed for outwardly is met by knowing oneself inwardly. The long ache ends not in travel but in recognition.

A Question to Sit With

Could knowing yourself more deeply bring you closer to what you're searching for?
