Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O sublime understanding, come, enter my mind —
so that I may sing the praises of the One and love the Name dearly.
Ask for understanding the way you'd welcome a guest — and let it lead you to love.
The Pause is an invocation of understanding itself: "O sublime understanding, come, enter into my mind." It is asked for as a guest, a gift to receive — and its purpose is love: to sing praises and "love so dearly the Lord's Name." Understanding here serves love, not pride.
A Question to Sit With
What understanding would you most want to 'come and live' in your mind?
