ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
sant parsaad bha-ay kirpaalaa ho-ay aap sahaa-ay.
By the Grace of the Saints, the Lord has shown His Mercy to me; He Himself is my Help and Support.
ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਤਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥੨॥੩੧॥
gun niDhaan nit gaavai naanak sahsaa dukh mitaa-ay. ||2||31||
Nanak ever sings the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of excellence; his doubts and pains are eliminated. ||2||31||

By the grace of the Saints, the One has shown me mercy; He Himself is my help and support.
Nanak forever sings the praises of the One, treasure of all goodness — and his doubts and pains are gone.
Grace flows through good company — and unending praise clears the doubts and pains.
The mercy comes "by the Grace of the Saints" — the Sangat as the channel of grace — and the One "Himself is my Help and Support." The result is the clearing of "doubts and pains" through unceasing praise. Grace, company, and praise together heal the soul.
