Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
a-ukhaDh khaa-i-o har ko naa-o.
I have taken the medicine of the Name of the Lord.
ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥
sukh paa-ay dukh binsi-aa thaa-o. ||1||
I have found peace, and the seat of pain has been removed. ||1||

I have taken the medicine of the Name.
I have found peace, and the very seat of my pain has been removed.
The Name is a medicine that removes not just the pain but the very place it comes from.
The Name is medicine (aukhad), and it does more than soothe — it removes "the seat of pain," the very source. Worldly remedies ease symptoms; the Name treats the root of suffering (cf. Shabad 104, the Name as medicine).
