Understanding the Command of Your Will, I delight in joy;
serving the true Guru, I reach the deep peace beyond craving.
When you understand the One's Will, life's flow becomes a joy.
The verse joins two things: understanding Hukam, the flow of existence, and delight. When you stop fighting the flow, joy comes. Another Aasaa shabad says the same: "Your Will is sweet."
Think of swimming in a river. Fight the current and you are worn out. Go with it and the swim becomes fun. Then comes a second gift. Serving the Guru brings Nirvaanaa, a deep peace beyond craving. It is found right in ordinary, everyday service.
