Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਖ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੂਖਾ ॥
ghar meh sookh baahar fun sookhaa.
Within my home there is peace, and outwardly there is peace as well.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦੂਖਾ ॥੧॥
har simrat sagal binaasay dookhaa. ||1||
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all pains are erased. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Within my home there is peace, and outside there is peace as well.

Remembering the One, all my pains are erased.

When peace settles inside, peace appears outside too.
The deeper layer

Remembrance brings a peace that is complete — "within my home... and outwardly" alike. When the inner peace is real, it spreads to how the outer world is met. Pain is not merely managed but "erased" (cf. Shabad 140).

A Question to Sit With

Have you noticed the world feels calmer when you are calm within?
