Act in accordance with the Shabad, the True Word of the True Guru.
ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥
thir ghar baithay parabh apnaa paavhu. ||2||
Remain steady and stable within the home of your own self, and find God. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Live by the Word of the true Guru.

Stay steady within the home of your own self, and find the One.

The One is found by staying steady in the home of your own self, not by wandering out.
The deeper layer

Two instructions: live by the Shabad, and "remain steady and stable within the home of your own self." The One is found not by wandering out but by staying home — steady in one's own depths (cf. Shabad 36).

A Question to Sit With

What helps you stay steady within yourself instead of being pulled all over?
