Whatever He does, is pleasing to His servant; the way of life of His slave is immaculately pure. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One's servant is free forever.

Whatever the One does is pleasing to the servant, and the servant's whole way of life is spotless.

Freedom is finding whatever the One does pleasing — then nothing can disturb you.
The deeper layer

Real freedom is being happy with whatever the One does.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Har kaa sayvak sad hee muktaa — the One's servant is always free. And what shows that freedom? Jo kichh karai so-ee bhal jan kai — whatever the One does feels good to that person.

This is gladly accepting the Hukam, the One's will, the way things are ordered. Think of a friend who is happy whether the picnic is sunny or rainy. Nothing ruins their day, because they are not fighting the weather. A person who finds everything the One does pleasing cannot be shaken. And their whole way of living stays clean and bright.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you could find what life brings genuinely acceptable?
