Real Trust Reaches So Deep Even Dreams Aren't Anxious

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

With the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in his mind,

he suffers no anxiety, even in dreams. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

With the treasure of the Name in the mind,

he feels no anxiety, not even in his dreams.

Real trust reaches so deep that not even your dreams are anxious.
The deeper layer

When the Name lives in your heart, peace reaches all the way into your sleep.

Naam niDhaan means the treasure of the Name, the One's presence held close. When that treasure is in the mind, tis ka-o chintaa supnai naahi — worry does not come, not even in dreams.

Think about how worries often wait for bedtime. The lights go out, and the mind starts to buzz. This line says the peace goes deeper than that. It is not only calm in the daytime. It reaches past waking, into sleep itself, so even the dreaming mind is at rest. This is as deep as trust can go, the same trust other shabads of this Guru sing about, where worry has no place.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to be at peace even in your sleep?
