Doubt and Clinging Wiped Away, an Unstained Belonging

Finding the true Guru wipes away two big troubles at once: doubt and clinging.

Kaho naanak gur pooraa paa-i-aa — Nanak says, I have found the perfect Guru. And bharam moh sagal binsaa-i-aa — all doubt and clinging are gone. Bharam is doubt, the mind pulled this way and that. Moh is clinging, holding on too tight.

Picture a kite. Doubt is the wind jerking it every which way. Clinging is the string tangled in a tree. When both are cleared, the kite flies steady. That is where the shabad began: a heart that belongs to the One, clean and free of worry.
