I have taken to Your Sanctuary, O God, most profound and excellent. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are my Creator, and I am Your servant.

I have taken to Your shelter, God — deepest and most excellent.

Knowing who made you, the natural place to rest is in that One's shelter.
The deeper layer

The Pause names the relationship plainly — "You are my Creator, and I am Your servant" — and the soul's one move: "I have taken to Your Sanctuary." Knowing who made you and whom you serve, the natural place to be is in the shelter of the One "most profound and excellent".

A Question to Sit With

Where is the place you most naturally belong?
