Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Loving the Beloved fills the mind with deep, heavenly bliss.

You long to meet God — so why do you keep putting it off?

If you long to meet what you love, why keep putting it off?
The deeper layer

This one says that if you really want to meet your Love, there is no reason to wait.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. It is a loving nudge. Prabh milbay kee laalsaa taa tay aalas kahaa kara-o ree — you long to meet the One, so why are you being lazy about it?

The joy of loving the Beloved is real. It is ready now. The only thing in the way is our own putting-it-off.

Think of wanting to call your grandparents. You keep saying, "Later." But they are right there, happy to hear from you, the moment you pick up the phone. The verse says it gently, but it means: don't wait.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing do you keep meaning to start but keep delaying?
