my mind becomes supremely peaceful. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When I meditate on my true Guru,

my mind becomes utterly at peace.

Meditation on what is true brings a peace that circumstances can't.
The deeper layer

A plain cause and effect: "when I meditate on my True Guru, my mind becomes supremely peaceful." Peace is not coaxed by managing circumstances but arrives directly through meditation on the Guru. The practice itself is the peace.

A Question to Sit With

What practice reliably settles your mind, whatever is happening around you?
