Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In the company of the holy, the Name is learned, and every desire and task is fulfilled.

My thirst is quenched, and I am filled with the One's praise.

I live by chanting and holding the One in mind.

The Name is learned in good company — and there the restless thirst is finally quenched.
The deeper layer

This one says the Name is learned in good company.

The Saadh Sangat is the company of the holy, people who love the One. There the Name is learned. You catch it from those who already carry it, the way you pick up a song by singing along with friends.

There, every wish and task is fulfilled. The thirst inside is quenched. And the soul lives by remembering the One. Remembering becomes its very breath.

A Question to Sit With

What have you learned best not from a book but from being among those who live it?
