How blessed is the day, my friends, when the praises of the One are sung and the highest state is reached.
Worshipping the feet of the holy Saints, troubles and hatred are cleared from the mind.
This one holds the pause line, the center of the shabad, and the verse after it. It says a day spent singing the One's praises is a blessed day.
So-ee divas bhalaa mayray bhaa-ee — "that day is a good day, my brothers and sisters." Har gun gaa-ay param gat paa-ee — the day we sing the One's praises, we reach the highest state.
Then: saaDh janaa kay poojay pair — honoring the feet of the holy ones. Bowing at someone's feet is a way of showing deep respect. Mitay updareh man tay bair — troubles and hatred leave the mind.
Even hatred melts, and that is the hardest thing in any heart. Another shabad in Aasaa says the same. Think of how a grudge feels after a warm evening with kind friends. It gets smaller. Good company softens us.
What would make a day, looking back, feel truly blessed?
