In plain words

O singer, sing of the One who is the support of your soul, your body, and your breath.

Serve Him, and all peace is found; you will never need to go to any other.

Sing of the One who supports your very breath, and you'll stop running everywhere else.
The deeper layer

This one is about singing to the One who keeps you alive.

Gaav layhi too gaavanhaaray — O singer, sing! Sing of the One who is jee-a pind kay paraan aDhaaray, the support of your soul, your body, and your very breath.

Jaa kee sayvaa sarab sukh paavahi — serving the One, you find every kind of peace. Avar kaahoo peh bahurh na jaaveh — then you will not need to go to anyone else.

Think of searching for the best WiFi signal all over the house. Once you find the spot with full bars, you stop wandering. When you find the One who holds up your every breath, the restless going here and there comes to an end.

A Question to Sit With

What is the support beneath your very breath — worth singing about?
