Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My joyful Master is forever full of joy. Remember Him always, the treasure of all goodness.
I give my whole self to the beloved Saints. Through their kindness, God comes to live in the mind.
His gifts are never used up. In His gentle way, He easily gathers all into Himself.
His kindness can never be erased. So keep that True One in your mind.
This one is about a Giver whose gifts never run out.
Sadaa anand anandee saahib — the Master is always full of joy. Gun niDhaan nit nit jaapee-ai — keep remembering the One, the treasure of all goodness, again and again.
This is the "rahaa-o," the pause line. It is the center of the shabad. In it, the singer thanks the dear Saints, because through their kindness the One comes to live in the mind.
Jaa kaa daan nikhootai naahee — the One's gifts are never used up. An earlier shabad showed the same never-ending Giver. Picture a lunchbox that is full again every time you open it.
Jaa kee bakhas na maytai ko-ee — no one can wipe out the One's kindness. It is not given for a while and then taken back. It stays.
So the natural thing to do is this: man vaasaa-ee-ai saachaa so-ee — keep that True One living in your mind.
What kindness in your life has proven permanent, never erased?
