In plain words

Tens of thousands of devotees worship and adore You, chanting, "Beloved, Beloved."

How will You unite me — the worthless, corrupt soul — with Yourself?

Honest humility — knowing your own poverty — is what makes a soul ready to be lifted.
The deeper layer

This one is about feeling small next to so many good people, and being lifted anyway.

Laakh bhagat aaraaDheh japtay pee-o pee-o — "countless devotees worship You, calling 'Beloved, Beloved.'" Then the soul asks: kavan jugat maylaava-o nirgun bikh-ee jee-o — "how will You bring me close, when I have so little good in me?"

This is not giving up. It is honest humility. Think of a new kid joining a team full of stars, wondering why the coach picked them. That honest feeling is actually a good start. The soul that knows it needs help is the one ready to be lifted.

A Question to Sit With

Is it freeing or frightening to admit you have nothing to recommend you?
