Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

As many as are the pleasures of Maya, so many are the shadows they leave.

The Gurmukhs sing of the Name, the treasure of peace.

The pleasures of illusion are only passing shadows — the Name is the real treasure.
The deeper layer

A vivid image: Maya's pleasures are "shadows" — fleeting, insubstantial, leaving nothing solid behind. "As many as are the pleasures... so many are the shadows." Against these passing shadows, the Gurmukhs hold "the Naam, the treasure of peace" — substance instead of shadow.

A Question to Sit With

What in your life is shadow, and what is substance?
