Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When I beg from others, I am ashamed.

The One Master is the Supreme King of all; who else is equal to Him?

There's no shame in asking the One — only in begging from those as empty-handed as you.
The deeper layer

The Pause: "when I beg from others, I am ashamed." Begging from fellow beggars is beneath the soul's dignity; the only worthy door is the "Supreme King of all." Ask the One, not its dependents (cf. Shabad 96).

A Question to Sit With

Where do you take your deepest needs?
