Bestow Your Mercy, and dwell within my heart; please, become my Helper. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I chant the Name within my mind.

Bestow Your Mercy and dwell within my heart; please become my Helper.

Do your small part — and ask the One to come and do the rest.
The deeper layer

The Pause is a simple prayer: chant within, and ask the One to "dwell within my heart" and "become my Helper." The soul does its small part (chanting) and asks the One to do the rest (indwelling, helping). The partnership of grace and effort again.

A Question to Sit With

What's your small part, and what do you need to ask help for?
