ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥

Hold the Name in mind and lodge it in the heart — there is no other anyway.
This one says: hold the Name, because there is no other anyway.
It has two movements. Naam Dhi-aavahu — keep the Name in mind. Ridai basaavhu — let Him live in your heart. And under both is the reason: tis bin ko naahee — without Him, there is no one else.
Think of a family's home. Kids go to school, to practice, and to friends' houses, but they always come back home. Since there is only the One, there is only one thing truly worth holding on to.
