Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

He is blended with God by dedicating his mind to Him.

Bless Nanak with Your Name, O Lord — shower Your Mercy upon him.

Dedicate the mind, and it blends with the One — and even that is asked for as grace.
The deeper layer

Give your mind to the One, and you blend with the One.

Prabh sang mileejai ih man deejai — you join with the One by giving this mind to the One. It is like giving your whole heart to learning an instrument. Soon you and the music feel like one thing.

Then the shabad ends with a simple prayer. Naanak naam milai apnee da-i-aa karahu — bless Nanak with the Name; be kind to him.

Even the giving of the mind is asked for as a gift. We do our part, and we also know that the strength to do it comes from the One's kindness.

A Question to Sit With

What would it mean to dedicate your whole attention to one thing?
