In plain words

The Guru has shown me the world to be like this; I sing the praises of the One.

Renouncing his pride in strength and cleverness, Nanak has come to the Lord's Sanctuary.

Seeing clearly how the world goes, lay down your pride in strength and cleverness now.
The deeper layer

This one says that once you see how the world goes, you can put down your pride right now.

Aiso jag mohi gur dikhaa-i-o — the Guru has shown me what the world is like. Now I can see clearly how things go. So I choose differently. Ayk keerat gaa-i-aa — I sing the praises of the One.

Maan taan taj si-aanap — Nanak lets go of pride in his strength and his cleverness. He comes to the One's shelter instead.

The sleeper in this shabad was proud of those very things. Nanak wakes up in time and sets them down. Think of carrying a heavy backpack full of stuff you don't need. Once you see it clearly, you can just take it off and walk lighter.

A Question to Sit With

What would it look like to wake up and change course before the end?
