Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Cherish one desire only: meditate continually on the Guru.

Install the wisdom of the Saints' Mantra; serve the Guru's Feet, and by grace you shall meet Him, O my mind.

Gather all your scattered wants into one desire — to meditate on what is true.
The deeper layer

The Pause distills the spiritual life to one desire: "cherish one desire only: meditate continually on the Guru." The scattered, many-wanting mind is gathered to a single point. From that one desire, served and by grace, comes the meeting.

A Question to Sit With

If you could keep only one desire, what would you want it to be?
