In plain words

One who remains dead while yet alive is saved, and saves others as well.

Celebrate the Victory of the One; taking His Sanctuary, the supreme state is found. I am a sacrifice to the Guru — the boat by which the terrifying ocean is crossed.

Die to the ego while alive, and you are carried across — and carry others with you.
The deeper layer

This one says: let your pride fade while you are still alive, and you can help others across too.

Jeevat marnaa means "dying while alive." It is not about the body. It means letting the proud "me, me, me" fade away while you go on living. Taaray tarnaa — that person is saved, and helps save others too. Grace fills them up and spills over.

Gur bohith sabad bhai tarnaa — the Guru is the boat. Through the Guru's Word, the scary ocean of life is crossed.

Think of a lifeguard. First they learn to swim well themselves. Then they can pull others to shore. When pride fades, you are carried across, and you can carry others with you.

A Question to Sit With

How can one person's inner freedom help free those around them?
