In plain words

The One Lord dwells within countless beings; the rituals and faiths are beyond number.

Without reverent awe and devotion, life is in vain; singing the One's praises, the supreme wealth is obtained.

Among countless rituals and faiths, the one essential is reverent awe and devotion.
The deeper layer

This one says there are countless ways people worship, but one thing matters most: loving awe.

Bheetar ayk anayk asaNkh — the One lives inside countless beings. Karam dharam baho sankh asaNkh — there are so many rituals and faiths, too many to count.

In the middle of all of them, one thing is named. Bin bhai bhagtee janam biranth — without bhau and bhagti, life is empty. Bhau means loving awe, the wonder you feel before something great. Bhagti means loving devotion.

It is not about doing the right ritual. It is about the heart. Think of standing under a sky full of stars and feeling tiny and amazed. That wonder, joined with love, is what gives life its worth. Har gun gaavahi — singing the One's praises brings the greatest treasure.

A Question to Sit With

What is the one thing that gives a life real worth, beneath all the forms?
